Happy Birthday, Sir David Jason!

Happy 84th birthday to one of the most iconic actors of the last 6 decades!

David Jason in his illustrious career has played a number of massive roles in the world of TV – from playing Granville in the 70s of “Open All Hours” (and “Still Open All Hours” over the last decade), to Jack Frost in “A Touch Of Frost”, plus voiceover work of cartoon characters Mr. Toad in the “Wind In The Willows” series, Danger Mouse and Count Duckula – just to name a few!

Of course, his biggest and most iconic role however was as Derek “Del Boy” Trotter in “Only Fools And Horses”. The series, which started in 1981, saw Del Boy try to become rich and wealthy alongside his brother Rodney and Uncle Albert by selling dodgy goods in a “get rich quick” style of life – almost always ending in failure.

The last main episode of the show’s run in 1996 (excluding three one-off specials afterwards) saw an audience of 24.3 million viewers – at the time, almost half of the UK population – and saw the Trotters finally become millionaires after they sell off a rare watch at an auction. Del Boy believed the watch would sell for around £40,000 – but eventually it goes for £6.2 million, leading to the iconic shot of him and Rodney celebrating like mad in their trademark Reliant Regal!

If you’re a Trainee Millionaire like Del Boy, then we’ve got the perfect design for you!
