Happy Birthday David Gilmour!

Pink Floyd guitarist and co-lead vocalist David Gilmour celebrates his 78th birthday today!

While not an original member of the group, Gilmour did join just a few years after the formation in 1965. He joined in December 1967, while founding member Syd Barrett would leave just a few months later in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health.

One of the most successful groups of all time, Pink Floyd are remembered for a number of not just iconic but legendary albums such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.

The group achieved just one chart-topping single here in the UK – but what a record to reach #1 with. Not only is Another Brick In The Wall a number one single for them, but it’s one of just 180 singles (as of writing) to have sold over one million copies in the UK as well.

Despite being formed almost 60 years ago and some members having passed away since, Pink Floyd’s influence is still felt even to more recent times – just 2 years ago, a single called Hey Hey Rise Up – raising money for charities helping Ukrainians in the war with Russia – almost made the Top 40 in April 2022.

Over the years, David Gilmour has stood out with some unique styles while performing live and in photoshoots – and you can get your very own with t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts available here!

Have a great day, David!
