Rex were a British rock & roll group formed in swingin’ 1967. The band originally went by the name Tyrannosaurus Rex, putting out a series of under-the-radar folk rock albums. During the early to mid ‘70s, the band went electric, turned it up loud and released a string of hits that included such timeless classic as Jeepster, Get It On, Hot Love, Children of the Revolution, Ride a White Swan, Telegram Sam, Metal Guru and I Love to Boogie. At the height of their powers the band put out six UK top-30 albums, including the chart-topping Electric Warrior, cementing their status as one of glam rock’s most enduring acts. Sadly, tragedy struck in 1977; Bolan was killed in a car accident and the band fell apart. In September 1976 during one of their gigs, The Damned's Captain Sensible wore this design!
