Rex were a British rock & roll group formed in swingin’ 1967. The band originally went by the name Tyrannosaurus Rex, putting out a series of under-the-radar folk rock albums. During the early to mid ‘70s, the band went electric, turned it up loud and released a string of hits that included such timeless classic as Jeepster, Get It On, Hot Love, Children of the Revolution, Ride a White Swan, Telegram Sam, Metal Guru and I Love to Boogie. At the height of their powers the band put out six UK top-30 albums, including the chart-topping Electric Warrior, cementing their status as one of glam rock’s most enduring acts. Sadly, tragedy struck in 1977; Bolan was killed in a car accident and the band fell apart. In September 1976 during one of their gigs, The Damned's Captain Sensible wore this design! Wild nights, indeed! This exclusive design features a style inspired by the AC/DC 1977 single "Whole Lotta Rosie", which would have to wait until 1980 to reach #36 in the UK charts. Bon Scott wrote the song in tribute to a woman he met and spent the night with. Having met her in the evening and telling Scott she'd slept with 28 famous people that month, he recalled waking up the next morning and spotting Rosie whisper to her friend "29!". The woman in question sadly passed away aged just 22 in 1979, and Scott just a year later at 33. A brilliant design for AC/DC fans!
