The Village People Organic T-Shirt

A legendary face of the LGBTQ+ community! The Village People was a disco group targeted at the large gay community in the music scene in the late 70's. They achieved 7 Top 40 singles in the UK, including #2 hit "In The Navy" and the million-selling #1 mega hit "Y.M.C.A.". Such was their success, the group still maintains cultural relevance to this day, with the dance routine for "Y.M.C.A." still being used in popular culture in modern times too! Glad To Be Gay Organic T-Shirt

An anthem for British gay people! "(Sing If You're) Glad To Be Gay" was a 1978 single by the Tom Robinson Band, which came as part of a 4-track EP Rising Free that reached #18 in the UK charts. Due to society's viewpoints towards gay people at the time, the song - despite being the most popular from the EP - was refused to be played by the BBC on their chart show, as they chose another track instead. The song criticises the British Police as well as calling out hypocrisies such as Gay News being prosecuted for obscenities despite the existence of Playboy and the (at the time) Page 3 models in tabloid newspapers, among highlighting the dangers of homophobia and making a plea of support for the LGBT community. Premium organic garment, ethically sourced and environmentally friendly. A classic track with a wonderful message, well ahead of its time - a must-have for any fan of this record!

Friend Of Dorothy (Dot Cotton) T-Shirt

Who said it needed to refer to that film? A brilliant design featuring the legendary EastEnders character Dot Cotton, with the quote "Friend of Dorothy" - a slang phrase to express someone is part of the LGBTQ+ community without actually saying as such. While the original origin is unknown, in modern times it was used in relation to the Wizard of Oz film, which featured Judy Garland portraying Dorothy - whose friends who followed her showed gay characteristics. The slang phrase came in useful when being gay, or part of the LGBTQ+ community, was less accepted in the public image in past times. For those who want a twist on a classic line, show your love for the legendary British Soap (and Dot Cotton!) with this exclusive design!
