The Old Grey Whistle Test Organic Hooded Sweatshirt

A classic from your TV! The Old Grey Whistle Test was a BBC2 show broadcast between 1971 and 1988 and was an alternative to Top Of The Pops, in that they would play non-chart music. The name comes from a Tin Pan Alley phrase, where a record was played to the "old greys" (doormen in grey suits). If they could whistle along to the song after just one or two plays, it was considered to have passed the old grey whistle test. With a simplistic studio setting, the Starkicker in the titles and Area Code 615's Stone Fox Chase playing, you knew you were in for a brilliant show: be it Bob Harris, Annie Nightingale, Richard Williams or any other who took on the presenting role!
