Five Festival Essentials: TShirtGrill’s Packing Guide

Festival season is approaching its big kick off and we’re excited to see what 2015 has to offer in terms of awesome sets, jaw dropping stage shows and of course – those all important special guests. Whether you’re rocking out at Download, dancing the hazy days away in Glastonbury or celebrating the end of exams at Reading/Leeds, there is something for everyone to enjoy this year.

Here at TShirtGrill we have put together our own festival essentials. The extra bits that (let’s be honest) can often get forgotten about when you’re hastily packing your fancy dress costumes and face paints for the weekend.

Poncho

Although you may be wishing for a heat wave, chances are that visitors to UK festivals will experience at least one day of rain. Always ensure that you have a waterproof at hand, if you don’t fancy carrying around a bulky jacket – make sure you at least have an emergency hooded plastic poncho that you can throw on when the heavens open.

The Bag

When you’re spending all day in a festival arena, it’s important to ensure that you have all of your belongings safely stored. We’ve all heard horror stories of valuables being stolen or falling out of pockets into the great abyss that is a festival crowd – to avoid this it’s important to invest in a secure backpack that you can keep with you at all times. We love this camo backpack with padded shoulder straps and back panel.

Packing Light

Although you may be tempted to pack your entire wardrobe, you will soon regret it when you’re lugging your gear from the car to the campsite. The trick for festival packing is to always pack light, chances are you won’t be changing your jeans for the duration of the event so switch up your look with statement band t-shirts such as this ‘Born a Rocker, Die a Rocker’ tee, inspired by the classic Ramones logo.

The 3 ‘Ts’

Sometimes it’s easy to forget even the most basic things when it comes to packing, especially when you’re caught up in the excitement of the upcoming weekend. Whether you’re headed to a hard rock festival or prefer things a little more dance orientated, one thing is for certain – you cannot afford to forget your 3 ‘Ts’

Toothbrush + Paste: Technically two separate things, but do not underestimate how great it feels to wake up after a night of partying and be able to brush your teeth.

Towel: A towel at a festival can serve a multitude of purposes – from drying off after being caught in rain to acting as a makeshift pillow, camping mat or even a duvet on the colder nights.

Toilet Paper: Again, this may seem to be a common sense item, however it is staggering how many people forget to pack toilet roll and find themselves having to pay over the odds for a roll when they get there.

Wherever you’re pitching your tent this summer, make sure you stay safe, pack smart and above all – have fun! Why not share your festival tips with others by commenting below or heading to our Facebook and Twitter pages.
